The Warriors from Minisink Valley start their NYS Division 1 Dual Meet title defense this week as the Section 9 duals get under way. Coach Gallagher's squad are overwhelming favorites in their repeat bid. Wantagh eclipsed the 20 win plateau by winning the Butler Duals this past weekend.

No changes with 6-9. Fairport added 5 more wins to their total, bringing it to 14. They suffered their second defeat of the season to D2 #2 Canisteo-Greenwood this past weekend at the Ahonen Duals, 40-21. Fox Lane jumps to #10 this week with Hewlett, Long Beach and Niagara Falls all suffering defeats.

Horseheads downed Corning 44-25 and are the favorites for a repeat visit to Syracuse in late January. Brentwood has 3 duals this week and a DMT @ Comsewogue this weekend. Miller Place is also scheduled to be at Comsewogue this weekend as well....a potential preview of the Section 11 finals may be in store.

The Legends from Lancaster claimed the Section 6 dual meet title this past weekend by upending both Niagara Falls (top seed) and Starpoint (2 seed). The win jumps them to #16 and guarantees them a trip to Syracuse for the state duals. This is Lancaster second Section 6 dual meet title, with their other coming in 2018. Hewlett lost a narrow bout to Islip, 34-31, at the West Islip Duals.

Starpoint reached its first Section 6 dual meet final on Saturday. The Spartans fell to Lancaster, 38-26. Coach Hart's squad should in consideration for an at-large berth into the state duals. All four losses have come against state-ranked opponents, including two to Section 6 D2 Dual Meets Champs Newfane. Both Shaker and MacArthur are quietly undefeated on the season. The Bison take on a tough Saratoga Springs squad this week while MacArthur is set to take on #17 Long Beach tomorrow.

C-G avenged their only loss of the season on Saturday by defeating Fairport 40-21. The Redskins maintain their #2 ranking since week #1. Newfane takes out defending D2 NYS champions Falconer 43-24 en route to their first Section 6 Dual Meet title. The Panthers now sit at #3. The Section 5 Division 2 duals are set to begin tomorrow with #2 C-G, #3 B-R and #10 HFL all in the field.

Warrensburg won their dual meet tournament over the weekend, posting a 5-0 record. The Burghers are are favorites to yet again represent Section 2 in Syracuse. The seeds for the Section 3 duals were released and due to 3 forfeit losses, General Brown is the #4 seed and is on a collision course with top seed #11 state ranked Central Valley Academy.

Central Valley is no accustomed to sitting outside the top 10. the Section 3 duals start next week and the Thunder are the top seed. Unfortunately Pioneer didn't compete at the Section 6 duals. Eventual champs Newfane won 37-31 in a previous dual earlier this season. I would have loved to see a potential rematch. Holland Patent is quietly climbing the charts with their only defeat coming at the hands of CVA. The Golden Knights are the #2 seed at the Section 3 duals.

Falconer finished as runner-ups in the S6 DMT on Saturday. They should be in consideration for an at-large berth. Camden's 1 loss has come to the hands of #8 General Brown, by 12. They will square off with #21 Adirondack in round 1 of the Section 3 Duals. Port Jeff will look to get revenge on Shoreham Wading River at the Section 11 duals. SWR won 33-31 earlier this season.
