NC STATE
*Brock DelSignore (184/197): Currently competing behind multiple-time All-American/top-5 ranked, Trent Hidlay, in Raleigh, the two-time NYS finalist/2021 J-Men champ is making such a positive impression in his first year as a member of the Wolfpack, that it is only a question of when/how soon they coaching staff will be able to get him in the line-up. One injury or shift in the line-up might be all it requires for him to go from understudy to mainstay...Competing exclusively in tournaments in his true freshman season, the Shenenendehowa alumnus has earned titles at King Open and the Franklin & Marshall Open, while also 5th at The Citadel Open, and 3rd at Wolfpack Open...Unofficially, he holds a 19-9 record!
*Jacob Ferreira (197): In the same predicament as DelSignore, Ferreria would be a starter for several DI programs, but just happens to be on a campus that features a top-25 person ahead of him on the depth chart...Setting his career-high for wins (15) in his freshman year at Bucknell in 2019, the 2018 NYS DI runner-up for Horace Greeley, is challenging that milestone in 2021-2022....He entered February with an overall tally of 14-3, and has been a placer at every event that he has attended---The Citadel Open (2nd), Wolfpack Wrestling Open (1st), Patriot Open (2nd), and the Franklin & Marshall Open (3rd)...
*AJ Kovacs (157/165/174): Yet another wrestler that is plenty capable of being an "every day presence" in a collegiate line-up, the two-time NYS DI finalist/2019 State Champion for Iona Prep, has made the most of his time serving as a reserve....Splitting with his teammate/current top-10, Ed Scott, on back-to-back November weekends, the former Gael won a crown at The Citadel Open and was then the runner-up at the Wolfpack Open...He added a Southern Scuffle 6th (win over InterMat #31 Cody Bond; Appalachian State) to begin the New Year!....All in all, the Danbury, CT resident has assembled a record of 17-7
*Jake Null (165/174): The two-time NYS DII finalist/2020 state gold medalist is another example of why Coach Popolizio has been relentless in returning to his NY roots when pursuing top talent...Waiting his turn until 4x AA/2018 NCAA National runner-up, Hayden Hidlay, closes out his decorated career, the gem out of Section III (Dolgeville/Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville) has provided the NCST coaching staff with every reason to feel confident about his ability to jump in next season and be an immediate contributor...A winner of over 20 matches (21-8) in open tournament play, Null posted an attention-grabbing victory over then #21 Gavin Kane (UNC) to win the Wolfpack Open...He has subsequently gone on to place 3rd at the King Open and 4th at the Cleveland State Open!
*Deonte Wilson (285): The 2021-2022 season has seemingly not gone as planned for the former 2x NYS DI finalist/2018 state titlist out of Amityville...Entering his junior season as not only a two-time returning National Qualifier, but also as the reigning conference champion, fierce competition within his own camp has resulted in Wilson temporarily relinquishing his first-string duties for the Wolfpack...Still, in spite of the unexpected adversity, he has performed admirably, compiling a 9-3 record, highlighted by runner-up status at The Citadel Open and bronze at the Wolfpack Open...Given his wealth of big bout experience, we are hoping that as we move closer to postseason, Pop & company may give him another shot at the starting job!

VIRGINIA
*Colden Dorfman (197): In his rookie year in Charlottesville, the former three-time NYS medalist (3rd in 2021) for the Shen Plainsmen has thrived in tournament competition, compiling an overall stat sheet reading as 10-5...Commencing his college career with a runner-up finish in the freshman/sophomore division at the Southeast Open, Dorfman won three matches and just missed placing at the Lehman Open, and most recently was a champion at the Appalachian Open
*Jon Errico (157): Often overlooked by his Empire peers because the majority of his high school tenure was done in the service of The Brunswick School (CT), the Armonk resident/2014 NYS DI 4th on behalf of Byram Hills is as much of a NYer as anyone....Earning his undergraduate degree and winning 40+ matches over a five-year span at the University of Pennsylvania, Errico is in the midst of one heck of a swan song in what is likely to be his own year as a Cavalier....Amassing an overall record of 12-4 (3-1 in duals), he was a titlist at the Mat Town Open in November....He has some competition for the starting spot at UVA, but we feel that the combination of his experience and resume makes Errico an extremely viable option to get the postseason call for UVA!
OHIO STATE
*Chase Liardi (133): The true freshman from Massapequa (3x NYS DI medalist/2x runner-up) has made an immensely smooth transition from the scholastic level to the collegiate scene....In his first year matriculating in Columbus, the Chief turned Buckeye has demonstrated that he ought to factor into future lightweight plans for tOSU...A winner in 11 of 15 bouts in tournament-play, Liardi has been on the podium at just about every event he has hit up in 2021-2022...Kicking off his time in Scarlet & Gray by placing 4th in the underclassmen division of the Michigan State Open, the former section VIII star has tacked on a 3rd at the Ohio Intercollegiate Open (Freshman/Sophomore division), and a runner-up display at the Storm Open!
AIR FORCE
*Sam Wolf (174): The 2019 NYS DII runner-up out of Warsaw has been tearing it up in open competitions during his sophomore campaign....Winning 13 of 15 bouts (not including losses by medical forfeit), the "King Ratz" squadron member won a title at the Franklin & Marshall Open, and was a runner-up at The Citadel Open...InterMat currently has him as their #30-ranked individual in the weight class

IOWA STATE
*Zach Redding (141): A 2021 conference bronze medalist/NCAA Qualifier as a true freshman, the four-time DI State medalist/2x champion from Suffolk (Eastport-South Manor) unfortunately has been the "victim" of an embarrassment of riches that the Cyclones possess at the lower and middle weight classes...With 2020 NWCA 1st Team All-American, Ian Parker, closing our his time in Ames this season, it goes without saying that Redding's absence from the starting-10 will not last beyond this year...So, in the meantime, the Barn Brothers/Kong United trained hammer has remained sharp by attending a few open events...The owner of a 7-2 record in '21/'22, he brought home the prize at the Daktronics Open in November!
*Sam Schuyler (285): Filling the shoes of graduated two-time All-American, Gannon Gremmel, the 2017 NYS DI bronze medalist on behalf of Kings Park has been masterful in his short-stay thus far as a Clone...Spending the first four years of his college career at the University of Buffalo, Schuyler was a first-time NCAA Qualifier last for the Bulls and barring any kind of unforeseen injury or slump, appears destined to be headed back to the "real March Madness" next month...Holding a 12-2 overall record (10-1 in duals), the Long Islander sits in the #21 spot of the InterMat rankings/#22 per Flo! He already has wins over several of his polled brethren (#23 Michael Wolfgram of West Virginia/#24 Brandon Metz of NDST/#28 Josh Heindselman of Oklahoma, #33 Luke Surber of Oklahoma State, etc.), and will get the opportunity to add to his resume as ISU's remaining schedule puts him on a collision course with several additional top-25 foes!

NORTHERN IOWA
*Colin Realbuto (149): Now in his second year as a Panther after initially beginning his career in the Ivy League at Brown University (14-20 in two years), the 2018 NYS DI bronze medalist for Iona Prep is like a fine Italian wine; with each passing year, he grows stronger and more appreciated....Building off of the momentum and/or confidence gained when he earned the right to represent Italy at the 2021 Senior World FS Championships, Realbuto is having a career-year as a redshirt sophomore, compiling an 11-5 record en route to securing a spot in the national polls (#33 per InterMat)....In Mid-December, he was a titlist at the UNI Open, besting 2020 NWCA Honorable Mention All-American, Michael Blockhus (Minnesota) in the finals...

OKLAHOMA
*Willie McDougald (149): Welcome to the national rankings, Willie McDougald!! Having caught fire at the end of January, including victories over 2x All-American, Jarrett Degen (Iowa State), then #21 Josh Edmonds (Missouri), and the aforementioned Realbuto (Northern Iowa), the 4x medalist/3x finalist/2x champ out of Niagara Falls has vaulted into the 21st spot of the InterMat polls (HM by Flo)....Given the run he is on, this is absolutely a young man with a bullet next to his name, as he is a riser!!
__________________________________________________________
SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
*Tanner Cook (165): A meteor that exploded onto the scene in 2020, winning 21 matches, finishing 3rd at the conference championships, and punching his ticket to the National Tournament, the three-time NYS DII placer/2x finalist/2017 titlist out of Central Valley Academy, has had to shake off some rust after missing the entire 2020-2021 season...Winning 15 of his 22 appearances thus far, Cook is a bonus point machine when he is at his best, as all but one of his wins so far have come via some form of extras (13 pins, 1 major)....InterMat has him slotted at #30 in their updated charts!
__________________________________________________________
WEST VIRGINIA
*Jace Schafer (125): The first of two extraordinary Mountaineer lightweights, the former two-time NYS DII gold medalist from Pal-Mac is excelling in his navigation of the learning curve between high school and the NCAA DI level...Battling his way to a 14-win season thus far as a collegiate neophyte, Schafer has found repeated success in tournament competitions...A top-3 placer at multiple events in 2021-2022, the section Ver experienced his initial college breakthrough at the Ohio Intercollegiate Open, finishing 3rd...Most recently, got his arm raised on four occasions to place 5th at the Edinboro Open...In addition, he split four bouts at the Southern Scuffle!
*Jordan Titus (133): The five-time NYS finalist/3x titlist out of Center Moriches entered college regarded as a blue chip prospect and thus far has done nothing to invite doubters to his future brilliance...Competing strictly in open competitions while redshirting in Morgantown, JT has amassed a 15-7 record, winning the title at the Ohio Intercollegiate Open, claiming silver at the Patriot Open, and 6th in his college debut at the Clarion Open...
BINGHAMTON
*Cory Day (184): The former 2x NYS DII medalist/2019 State Champion out of Section VI Iroquois is enjoying a career-year thus far in his redshirt sophomore campaign! Unbeaten (5-0) in five dual appearances, he has compiled an overall record of 11-3, including a recent victory over 2021 NCAA qualifier, David Key, of the U.S. Naval Academy...
*Lou DePrez (197): One of the greatest to ever do it in the Empire State, the Hilton product (3x NYS DI State titlist) has seen his successes continue to career over into his college career as he is a surefire lock to secure a berth to the National Tournament for a fourth consecutive season...The two-time All-American (8th in 2021; 2020 NWCA 1st Team) is the owner of a 22-3 record (12-1 in duls) this year and is presently ranked 15th by InterMat/16th by FloWrestling...DePrez was the champion at the
Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open in November, as well as a 7th place finisher at the prestigious Cliff Keen Classic in December!
*Jacob Nolan (174): An NCAA qualifier last season, the five-time NYS medalist/3x finalist/2019 DII State champ for Saranac has remained consistent as Binghamton's starter at 174 pounds....The owner of a 14-10 overall record (10-6 in duals), the stud out of Section VII took 3rd at the Kaloust
*Anthony Sobotker (133): The two-time DI State medalist/2018 runner-up out of North Babylon finds himself on the fringe of a potential NCAA berth for the first time in his college career...Ranked 31st by InterMat, he has amassed a 14-11 record (8-6 in duals), highlighted by a fall over then #11th ranked/2020 NWCA All-American, Sammy Alvarez (Rutgers)!

BROWN
*Jack Bokina (149/157): Entering the season with a career record of 31-32, it has been a breakout junior campaign for the former (2018) DII State titlist/4x placer out of Mattituck....A winner of 12 of 18 bouts in mostly open competitions, he has respective finishes of 6th, 2nd at the Kaloust and Cougar Clash! Bokina won a clash for Empire State bragging rights when he picked up his lone dual victory this season by 14-9 decision over Hofstra/Monroe-Woodbury's Joe McGinty!

CORNELL
*Vito Arujau (125): Finally back in the Big Red singlet after taking an Olympic redshirt in 2020 and then having the Ivy League cancel the season in 2021, the four-time NYS DI Champ for Syosset/2021 Olympic Games alternate has not skipped a beat in his return to folkstyle....Perfect thus far this season with an 8-0 record, four of Arujau's triumphs came against opponents who at the time of the bout, where ranked inside the top-32, making them potential NCAA qualifiers...A consensus top-3 by all major polls, Flo has the 2019 NCAA 4th sitting in the #2 spot, while InterMat has him in bronze medal position!
*Greg Diakomihalis (125): A starter for the majority of teams on the DI stage, the only reason why the 5x NYS large school gold medalist from Hilton is not seeing as much action as would be expected is that he has the misfortune of being behind a definitive national title threat on his own campus [Arujau]...Still, when given his opportunities, the freshman has performed consistently, earning a 10-6 overall record (2-1 in duals)...Diakomihalis has placed in two of the three tournaments he has competed in, commencing his college career as a bridesmaid at the Kaloust, and then later finishing 7th at the Southern Scuffle!
*Yianni Diakomihalis (149): The elder of the two siblings on the Cornell roster, every sign continues to point at a third NCAA crown for the former 4x NYS DI State champ [also out of Hilton]...Undefeated (15-0) and often times untested in appearances, the #1 man in the land at 149 points has secured bonus points in 11 of his wins....Perhaps the biggest feather in the cap thus far for the the 2021 Senior Freestyle World Team member was the 7-2 decision he posted in the Cliff Keen finals over #2 ranked/returning NCAA runner-up, Sammy Sasso (Ohio State)!
*Jonathan Loew (184): When you look at the depth possessed by Coach Grey's squad at the upper-weights, just being in the line-up is an achievement unto itself....But alas, the 2x NYS DI medalist/2018 Champion for the Warriors of Wantagh, has done one better, as he is also guaranteed to be an National Tournament participant for the second time in his his career...Presently sporting a 17-5 record and sitting pretty in the polls at #15 (both IM/Flo), Loew has been a medalist at every tournament in which he has entered. He was the champion at the Kaloust, a runner-up at the Southern Scuffle, and a strong 3rd (defeated 2x AA Hunter Bolen; Virginia Tech) in Vegas at the Keen!!!!
*Hunter Richard (157): After sitting out the first few months of the season, the former three-time DII State gold medalist for Holland Patent has been immensely reliable since making his return in January...A 4th place performer at the Southern Scuffle, the 2020 NCAA Qualifier has registered a 9-4 record with all four of those blemishes coming at the hands of top-32 foes...In his most recent outing, he bested #20/2021 NCAA Qualifier, Andrew Cerniglia (Navy), 5-4....InterMat lists him as their 25th-ranked individual in the weight class!
__________________________________________________________
DREXEL
*Evan Barczak (165): Determined to punch his ticket to the National Tournament for a second straight season, the three-time DI State medalist out of Monroe-Woodbury, currently leads all Dragons this year with 16 (16-6) dubs....The titlist at the East Stroudsburg Open, Barczak was also 4th at the Keystone Classic...InterMat presently regards him as the 27th ranked individual at 165!
*Parker Kropman (157): Already a two-time NCAA Qualifier (2019, 2021), if the former three-time DI State medalist hailing from Penfield keeps wrestling as well as he has up to this point (13-5 record; 6-3 in duals), then a future trip to Detroit should very much be in the cards for the graduate student!!!...Ranked as high as 20th in 2021-2022, Kropman may not be in the polls at this precise instance, but his veteran poise leaves us confident that he rise to the occasion when necessary....Kropman was 5th at East Stroudsburg and 3rd at Keystone!!! His signature win for the year actually came in his first outing of the season when he defeated 2020 NWCA 1st Team All-American, Kendall Coleman (Purdue), 6-1
__________________________________________________________
HOFSTRA
*Ricky Stamm (165): In the midst of a bit of an up-and-down final season in the Blue & Gold, the two-time DI medalist/2016 State runner-up out of Levittown-Division is far better than his 9-7 record might suggest...A proven winner, the Nassau County resident has qualified for the National Tournament in each of the past two seasons and identical to what was said about Kropman, we are not about to doubt his ability to flip the switch and shine when postseason rolls around...
*Zachary Knighton-Ward (285): The "Smart Money" if you are looking to bet on which Pride wrestler is the odds-on favorite to lock up a trip to Detroit for the Natty, the 2017 NYS DI champion out of Uniondale, has gone to the big dance twice before and should easily be headed back in 2022!!! The owner of a 14-4 record, InterMat has the HU RS Senior as the #18 among the big daddies!!! Three of ZKW's losses have come at the hands of opponents who were/are ranked in top-15. So it is clear to see that it requires an elite foe to topple this giant!

LIU
*Ryan Ferro (174): An individual that started his career in Columbus at the Ohio State University, since his homecoming last season, the former 2x NYS DI titlist out of Warwick has been someone that the Sharks have been able to count on as they continue to navigate the transition to the NCAA Division I level...Getting his arm raised in 10 of 15 appearances this season (after going 4-3 in 2021), the above .500 record has made him one of the natural foundational pieces for the program!!!...Ferro won a tournament title at the Short Hitchcock Memorial
*Nunzio Crowley (197): Talk about going out on a high note!!! In four seasons competing for Binghamton, the two-time NYS DI placer out of Eastchester tallied a 36-42 overall record...Since trading upstate for downstate, he has caught fire, going 17-3 in 2021-2022, highlighted by a crown at the Wilkes Invitational and a bronze at the Shorty Hitchcock!

BUFFALO
*John Arceri (149): Going out with a bang is the former two-time NYS DI finalist/2015 State champion from Huntington...Entering his fourth season with the Bulls (combined record of 23-24 record), but returning from sitting out all of 2021, Arceri is approaching the 20-win plateau, as presently sports a 17-7 overall sheet (10-5 in duals)...Since the ball dropped in Times Square, the Long Islander has found a next year, finishing 7th at the Southern Scuffle and winning four of five dual appearances (on a four-match winning streak)...An individual that has no "bad losses" on his resume this season, most of his setbacks have come at the hands of ranked and/or national qualifier caliber opponents in bouts that he was competitive!
*Kaleb Burgess (149): By far one of the most ambitious/busy wrestlers among our New York collegiate brethren, the 2x NYS medalist/2021 J-Men State runner-up has racked up over 20 wins in his true freshman year by consistently being a road warrior and participating in as many open tournaments as humanly possible...The Pal-Mac alumnus has been 3rd at the Purple Raider, 4th at Cleveland State, and 5th at the Purple Raider among his non-attached feats as a rookie!
*Noah Grover (165): Having never enjoyed a winning season in his tenure as a Bull, the two-time NYS DII placer/2017 champ out of Warsaw has changed that tune in 2021-2022!!! Having already established a new personal-high with 16 victories this season, last month, Grover had a big win over the previously cited Stamm, knocking off the multiple-time NCAA qualifier (3-1) in sudden victory..
*Derek Spann (133): That steady presence in the Buffalo line-up at every stage of his career, the two-time NCAA Qualifier from Adirondack (4x NYS DII medalist/3x finalist/2013 champ) has posted a team-leading 11 dual victories this season (13-6 overall) to help the Bulls to a 5-1 record in conference battles...The active leader on the roster with 78 career triumphs, Spann is unbeaten in his last five outings!

CLARION
*John Worthing (174): Busting onto the scene as a true freshman a year ago, the three-time NYS DII medalist/2x finalist/2020 champion out of Tioga was a fifth place finisher at the conference tournament for the Golden Eagles and seems primed to be even better now that he has been afforded a chance to grow into the weight class and has some experience under his belt...A winner of five of his last six outings, the former Tiger has quietly assembled a very solid 13-5 record as a RS freshman
__________________________________________________________
EDINBORO
*Ryan Burgos (149): Earning himself a starting spot as a true freshman last season, if it was not for a late-season injury, the two-time NYS DI finalist/2019 Champion firmly had his name in the conversation to be a potential National tournament qualifier for the Fighting Scots...In 2021-2022, Burgos has had to endure some of the literal growing pains that comes with moving up a weight class, but has still mustered an above .500 record and put forth a great effort in earning 4th place at the David Lehman Open/Franklin & Marshall Open
__________________________________________________________
GEORGE MASON
*Kyle Davis (184): After getting off to a bit of a slow start to his redshirt senior campaign, the 2017 NYS DI 4th hailing from Beacon turned things around in the month of January, concluding the first month of 2022 on a four-bout winning streak....Two season ago, while still attending Sacred Heart, Davis was a the program leader with 18 victories in 2020. Hence, it need not be said that when he gets on a roll, he is capable of achieving great things...

LOCK HAVEN
*Anthony Noto (133): What a difference a change of scenery can create!!! After spending his freshman season at NC State where he was relegated to the pine and did not receive many opportunities to showcase his skill set, the former four-time NYS DII titlist for HFL has discovered greener pastures in 2021-2022 in the Keystone State....Losing just once in 24 appearances (23-1; 12-0 in duals), the Cougar turned Bald Eagle has 100% emerged as a hunter/predator...Ranked 21st in the country by InterMat, Noto suffered his only blemish of the year as part of a 3rd place finish at the Clarion Open, but has not tasted defeat again in nearly three months!!!....He was the champion at both the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial and The Mat Town Open....His signature win this season came in Mid-January when he upended 2020 NCAA Qualifier/current Flo #24, Joey Prata (Oklahoma), 8-3!
ARIZONA STATE
*Jacori Teemer (157): A consensus top-4 (#3 by InterMat/#4 Flo) by the national pundits, no one has been able to get the better of the former 5x NYS DI Champion from Long Beach....Perfect in the stat sheet with a 14-0 record, the two-time All-American (2020 NWCA 2nd team; 4th at 2021 NCAA Tournament) has gotten his arm raised over six of his fellow-ranked opponents and doing everything right in solidifying himself as a genuine threat for the crown in March!
APPALACHIAN STATE
*Tommy Askey (157): Now in his second year as a Mountaineer, the 2x NYS DI placer/2020 State titlist from Pine Bush has not yet broken into the dual line-up, but has done some commendable work as a soloist in open events...Compiling an 11-10 record (after posting a 7-5 tally as a true freshman in 2021), the section 9er is fresh off of his best performance of the year, as he claimed 5th at the Appalachian State Open after prior finishes of 6th at the Mountaineer Invitational, and 8th at the Keystone Classic (including a win over Kropman)!
*Sean Carter (133): Despite never winning a state crown (2x medalist/2019 runner-up), the gentleman from North Babylon has been a dynamo on the collegiate level, winning conference Rookie of the Year honors in 2020 and then following it up last season by seizing the conference title (as well as the automatic berth to the NCAA tournament)...Suffering four of his seven losses this season at the onset of the year (November), Carter has found his groove of late, winning 6 of his last 7 bouts, highlighted by a 3rd place display at the Appalachian Open to end January...He is currently listed as the owner of a 13-7 record, which is nearly identical to the teammate (Codi Russell) whom he is attempting to beat out for the postseason nod!...Russell is a three-time conference finalist/defending champion (@125); so if Carter is able to win the in-room clash, it bodes for him in terms of adding some more SoCon bling to his trophy case!
__________________________________________________________
DAVIDSON
*Gavin Damasco (141): After compiling a 4-4 record in his first year on the Davidson campus in 2021, the 2020 NYS DI 4th that calls Commack home has done a banner job as a full-time/full-season starter for the Wildcats...Listed as possessing a 9-7 tally, Damasco was a 6th place finisher at the Southeast Open and won a trio of bouts at the Patriot Open....He is currently undefeated in dual affairs pitting him against in-conference opponents!!!
__________________________________________________________
VMI
*Tyler Mousaw (197): A year removed from finishing 3rd in the conference as a true freshman and being named to the All-Rookie squad, there has been no sighting of a sophomore jinx for the undefeated 2020 NYS DII Champion out of South Jefferson (wrestled one season in NY after being a multi-time PIAA medalist)...A winner of 10 of 16 matches (5-2 in duals), Mousaw had multiple wins at the Navy Classic and the Southern Scuffle, placing 4th at the former event! He recently lost an 8-6 heartbreaker to defending SoCon gold medalist, Chris Kober (Campbell); but the close margin means he could easily reverse his fortune when it matters most!
