165lbs Predictions:
Besides the obvious of Ohio and Penn State great, David Taylor, things can go a variety of ways in a diverse bracket.
There is only one 'almost' certain thing in this years tournament and as long as Taylor makes weight and remains healthy, he will likely make his fourth NCAA final and win his 2nd championship. In many eyes would put him as the greatest 2x NCAA Champion of all-time, and really......who would argue this point.
We're calling for Kemerer of Lehigh to make some early magic and perhaps make the podium.
Look for Zack Toal of Missouri to earn AA honors as an unseeded wrestler, and NOT because he will upset others, rather because he knows how to win big matches and has the right road in front of him.
Sulzer and Caldwell should make an intereting semi-final on the bottom half. Most will being favoring the Okie Cowboy, but Sulzer is explosive and knows how to score and comes from a background of winning big matches. Either way the winner of this bout will be simply looking to upset the 'magic man' Taylor.
Again, speaking of Taylor.......if you take away a somewhat 'fluke' fall by Bubba Jenkins and a clash with the amazing Kyle Dake, David Taylor is right there in the ranks of Cael Sanderson, Pat Smith, Lincoln McIlravy, and other NCAA greats.
Look for Palacio, Monk, Morse, Moreno, and Zilverberg to have All-American type of performances. The unfortunate part of the story, many of these guys will eliminate the other.
OWN Prediction: David Taylor, Penn State
Other Brackets: 125 / 133 / 141 / 149 / 157 / 174 / 184 / 197
