New York brought home 17 total medals across all divisions and styles, including one finalist in Noli Paddock and one champ in Ava Guilmette. The Cadet Girls team had the best performance as they finished 6th overall with 79 points and had 6 of the 17 medals.
The 6 Cadet Girls All-Americans is the most New York has podiumed since 2023 when they put 7 on the award stand. The most the Cadet Girls team podiumed before that was a record breaking 13 All-Americans in 2018 that included the likes of Ally Fitzgerald, Mia Macaluso, Sofia Macaluso, Grace Pauls, Naomi Henry, Riley Dalrymple, and the list goes on.
The 17 medals New York is bringing home is par for what we’d expect based on performance over recent years. Since 2019 New York has brought home as few as 14 medals and as many as 18 medals across all styles and divisions.

Stock Up
Trevor Patrovich (Hauppauge): Injured during the 2025-26 season, Patrovich’s first tournament back to action was Fargo. Patrovich came in completely unseeded and would win four straight matches to make it to the quarterfinals of the Junior Freestyle 120lbs bracket. That run to the quarters included a win over Brice La Fleur (Michigan State 3rd), Laz McEwen (#14 in the country at 120lbs), Isaiah Tuttle (Nebraska State 3rd), and Jack Wallukait (#196 recruit in Class of 2027). He would eventually fall in the quarters and blood round but received national praise from Willie Saylor as a breakout star of Fargo.
Elijah Brown (Monroe Woodbury): Brown went 5-2 as a first year junior while wrestling two weights up at 157lbs from his state tournament weight of 144lbs a few months ago. In the process he beat Sully Karmon (Ohio) by 11-0 tech in the consolation bracket. Karmon is currently the 39th overall recruit in the Class of 2029, and beat 3x New York State Champ Maverick Beckwith (Norwich) by fall the match prior.
Ava Guilmette (Shenendehowa): It’s hard to have your “stock up” when you were ranked 7th in the country at 170lbs and 17th in the country at 155lbs, but Guilmette is certainly able to do, and did so in dominating fashion. She beat #16 Camilla Hathaway (Pennsylvania) 11-2 in the finals and did so after needing an inhaler. She placed ahead of #12 Leolyn Karnowski (Kansas), #15 Brynlee Vaughan (Wisconsin), #16 Camilla Hathaway (Pennsylvania), and #21 Maddison Miller (Pennsylvania). After getting injured a year ago at this tournament, she was unsure of if she’d back again this year as she was a last minute add to Team New York’s roster. She gets back in the saddle, puts together a Fargo redemption tour run, and wins Fargo! The first Cadet girl to win since Haley Gonzales in 2024.
Noli Paddock (Chautauqua Lake): Locally here in New York State we understand that Paddock is a force to be reckoned with, however, on the national scene she is only listed as an honorable mention in the national rankings despite great out of season results. Paddock came in completely unseeded to Fargo and ultimately made the National Finals, losing a tight 6-4 bout to nationally ranked #12 Rain Scott (Illinois) under the lights. She was the finalist out of the top half of a bracket that included #24 Emma Grimes and HM Sheyna Cruz.
Jaxson Tocco (St. Francis): Tocco finished his freshman year with a 35-12 record and placed 4th at the CHSAA tournament at 103lbs. He placed 6th at the Blatnick and did not place at Northeast Regionals. At Fargo he went on a heater and placed 8th in the Junior Freestyle bracket at 100lbs, and became New York’s first Junior Boys Freestyle All-American since Dunia Sibomana (Long Beach) in 2024. Incredible run for Tocco to put him in the driver’s seat for an upcoming 2026-27 high school season.
Daniel Jones (Burnt Hills): Currently unranked on a MatScouts Class of 2029 Big Board, Danny Jones would make the semifinals of the Cadet Freestyle 144lbs bracket and finish in a remarkable 6th place. He’d double up and place 6th in Cadet Greco at 150lbs as well, which included a quick 8-0 tech over Henry Scott McDaniel who is a top 75 recruit on MatScouts 2030 Big Board.
Peyton Mullin (Dundee): What a tournament from Section V standout Peyton Mullin, and what a wild ride the last year has been for her. A year ago at Fargo she finishes 6th as a second year Cadet after making the semifinals, and was leading the eventual champ 8-0 before losing. She had a tough go at Journeymen in the fall. Then she is stopped for her third consecutive state title in the finals against Naomi Gonzalez. She dropped down to being an honorable mention in the national rankings from being previously ranked as high as 4th in the nation. After the state tournament she went on an absolute tear. Goes to Northeast Regionals and finishes 3rd, and then goes untouched at the Bison Duals leading into Fargo. At Fargo she would pull off back to back pins over nationally ranked #8 Kaylee DeJong (Iowa) and #5 Halle Spears (Michigan). She would ultimately place ahead of nationally ranked girls including #1 Brenda Banks (Pennsylvania), #3 Alexis Stinson (Missouri), #5 Halle Spears (Michigan), #8 Kaylee DeJong (Iowa), and #10 Aniya Smith (Iowa). Outstanding tournament and what a way to get back on the big stage! Mullin is BACK!
Peter Mikedis (Bellmore JFK): Mikedis came two matches shy from earning All-American honors in the Cadet Freestyle portion of the tournament and only lost to kids who earned AA honors or lost in the blood round. He’d turn around in Greco and go on a heater, becoming the highest Greco placer regardless of Cadet/Junior on the New York roster.
Wyatt Rock (Duanesburg-Schoharie): Similar to Jones, Rock is also currently unranked in the MatScouts Class of 2029 Big Board and would show out in Fargo. In Cadet Freestyle he would drop his opening round match to Gavin Cantera, who would go on to make a run to the quarters. Rock would rattle off seven consecutive wins to make it back to the blood round before dropping a tight 6-3 match to Caleb Kosko, who is the #19 overall recruit in the Class of 2029. He’d break through in Greco, ultimately finishing 8th.
Ava Gregg (Shaker): Gregg was picked to be one of our All-American threats out in Fargo despite not being nationally ranked, and that she would certainly be. In the round of 16 she would drop a 6-2 match to eventual champ Lyla Henson (Michigan), and proceeded to win five consecutive matches to get to the third and fourth place bout in the Cadet Girls 207lbs bracket. That run would most notably include an 8-5 win over nationally ranked #15 Mercedes Kruse (Wisconsin) in the consolation semifinals, before she would wrestle #6 Kenzie Barrett (Florida) for third. That match would be a 6-6 barn burner that Gregg would lose on criteria. Electric run from her this week.
Adam Khan (St. Anthony’s): Khan went 39-14 during the regular season and finished 4th at CHSAA’s losing tight matches to Fotis Koufalis (Iona Prep) and Brayden Kellison-Neglia (St. Francis). At Fargo he went on a 4-2 run in the Junior Boys Freestyle division at 126lbs. His biggest win came over Edward Vitu (Ohio), a 2x state qualifier.
Zavanna Evans (Groton): Evans did not qualify for the New York State tournament out of a very tough Section IV this year. Over the course of the spring and summer wrestling circuit she placed 2nd at the Blatnick in Cadet Freestyle and 2nd at Northeast Regionals. At Fargo she would avenge her loss to Laurel Varga from Northeast Regionals in the blood run, pinning her in 40 seconds to lock up All-American honors, and ultimately finish 7th at 235lbs in the Girls Cadet Freestyle division.
Arianna Balsamo (Long Beach): Balsamo finished second at the Section VIII tournament in February and not qualify for the state tournament. At Fargo she would drop her opening round match before winning four straight matches, ultimately making it to the Consolation Round of 16 (two matches shy from AA’ing). Her losses came to an All-American and Blood Rounder in the Cadet Girls 145lbs bracket.
