Michigan went 1-2 at the National Duals Invitational, beating a tough Arizona State team 30-10 before falling to #2 Nebraska 24-14 in a very competitive dual. Michigan would then drop their final dual to #16 Missouri 26-10. One of the biggest standouts of the tournament was NCAA qualifier Dylan Gilcher, who is up 2 weight classes this year at 165lbs. He posted a 3-0 record earned ranked wins over NCAA qualifiers #13 Nicco Ruiz (4-1 with a last second takedown) and #11 Maxx Mayfield (8-4 with a big 7-point move in the 2nd period).

Michigan is back on the road Friday to see a tough Columbia team coached by former Michigan assistant Donny Pritzlaff. On Sunder, the Wolverines are back in Ann Arbor against Virginia.

Michigan State University

Michigan State had an East Coast trip over the weekend, wrestling at Long Island on Friday and Rider on Sunday. The Spartans split the duals, beating LIU by a dominant 34-0 score, and losing a competitive dual to Rider by a score of 24-16. Former Detroit Catholic Central teammates Clayton Jones and Darius Marines were the standouts of the weekend, both going 2-0. Marines picked up a ranked win with a 3-1 decision over #33 Brayden Roberts of Long Island. On Sunday, Clayton Jones had a big second period Fall over ranked #33 Dylan Layton to keep the Spartans in the dual.

MSU will travel to Philadelphia this weekend to wrestle at the Keystone Classic on Sunday.
