DIVISION 1

Analysis: Detroit Catholic Central, looking for their 4th consecutive state championship, had no trouble in the semis this morning. The Shamrocks put an exclamation on the dual with a 10-1 major decision from Roche over #1 Hammingh. Hartland found a way against a very tough Brighton team, winning the swing matches at 126, 144, and 285. DCC should be in control of this dual, although Hartland is going to score. Big bonus points from guys like Boller, Fuchs, and Krueger should be the difference. Hoping we get to see Abbey vs Lees in an epic match at 138!

Prediction: Detroit CC +15

DIVISION 2

Analysis: What a run by Eaton Rapids! This young team went from unranked in the preseason to state finalists in impressive fashion. They took down a very tough Three Rivers team in the semis to advance to their first finals since 2015. Lowell, as always, is rolling right now. Eaton Rapids will have their opportunities to pick up a few wins, but the dual result should not be in jeopardy.

Prediction: Lowell +42

DIVISION 3

Analysis: Dundee is cruising, which is no surprise. They’re going to win another state title, but Yale has peaked at the right time. They were dominant in a win over #2 seed Whitehall in the semis. Unfortunately for Yale, their toughest part of the lineup is right where Dundee has a string of #1 ranked wrestlers. Look for the Vikings to win big.

Prediction: Dundee +60

DIVISION 4

Analysis: Head Coach Scooter Marry just reloads this Hudson team every year. Once again, Hudson has senior leadership and some of the top young freshman talent in the state. Clinton had a big win in the semis against #2 St. Louis, which was somewhat expected with how Clinton is wrestling. We’ve got a #1 versus #2 matchup in this one at 106, and Clinton should be able to score up to. However, the Tigers are just way too loaded.

Prediction: Hudson +30
