Brighton takes Williamston Classic Title with 4 Champs

This past Saturday the Bulldogs of Brighton showed why they are the top ranked team in Division 1.  Brighton showed their depth as a team in placing 12 wrestlers in the top 6 at the Jim Mooney Williamston Classic on Saturday.  They were led by tournament champions Jackson Rennicker at 125, Nick Brish at 171, Luke Ready at 215, and Eric Conquest at 285.  

One of two marquee match ups of the finals were at 135 which featured 2014 D4 - State Champion, Kanen Storr and 2014 D2 - State Finalist, Jaedin Sklapsky.  For the second time is as many weeks, Storr showed why he is ranked #1 at 130 in Grappler Power 15.   He was able to come away with a closely contested 6-4 win over Sklapsky who is ranked #1 at 135 in the Power 15.

The second marque match up was at 160 and featured 2014 D1 - State Champion, Logan Ritchie ( #1 - D1) versus Malik Dawkins (#3 in D1).  This interesting match ended up with not many points on the board with Ritchie pulling out a 3-1 decision.
