16U Duals - Greco Results

16U National Duals are officially underway, with the Greco portion of the competition taking place over the last two days in Herriman, Utah. Team Michigan put together an overall record of 5-3 to ultimately finish 3rd in the "Red/Blue Pool". On Day 1, Michigan split their duals, beating Maryland and New Jersey while falling to Oregon and Georgia. The 5th place finish in Pool C put Michigan in the Red/Blue pool, where they would pick up wins over North Dakota, Minnesota Red, and Nebraska. Their lone loss in the pool came to Florida.

Incoming Lakewood frosh Dakota Harmer led the way with 7 wins on the weekend, with his only loss coming to GFC champ Mills of Georgia. Layne Martin (106lbs), Carson Blum (106lbs), Nick Sorrow (120lbs), Matthew Quigley (120lbs), Braydon Tougas( 120lbs), and Grayson Fuchs (132lbs) went undefeated in the Greco tournament for Team Michigan. Martin, Blum, and Sorrow all earned spots on the All-Tournament team for their outstanding performances.

Incoming Plainwell freshman Dylan Nieuwenhuis picked up perhaps the biggest win in Greco, knocking off GFC runner-up and Georgia State champ Teequavious Mills in the first dual of the week. See below for all individual records and full dual results.
