Session 5 is in the books, and all we have left is the finals tonight at 7pm EST. Consi semis and placement matches have been wrestled, and 5 Michigan Grapplers have earned their spots on the podium. Braeden Davis lost in the consi semis but bounced back with a big pin in the 5th place match over McGonagle of Virginia Tech. Jacob Cardenas picked up a big win in the consi semis, although he dropped his 3rd place match to former NCAA champ AJ Ferrari. Josh Heindselman ended his career with a big win for the Wolverines, beating #5 Keuter of Iowa for 7th place.
Cameron Amine and Caleb Fish both ended their careers as All Americans for Oklahoma State, both taking 8th in their final seasons. It was Fish's first All American honors, and it was Amine's 4th time on the podium. Amine became just the 9th 4x All American for the state of Michigan, joining his cousin Myles, who was one of a handful of 5x All Americans in NCAA history.
Tune in at 7pm EST to watch the finals on ESPN. Davison HS grad Josh Barr will be taking on #2 Stephen Buchanan (Iowa) for a national championship.
