1A State Predictions

Before we move to the predictions for this week, lets take a look back and see how we did in our sectionals predictions.

Section A- Correctly predicted 10 of the 14 Section Champs, and 17 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 62 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 74%
Section B- Correctly predicted 13 of the 14 Section Champs and 24 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 66 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 79%

23 of the 28 Sectional Champs is great, but only getting 76% of the State Qualifiers from this classification is average at best.

Overview: While the State Tournament is always going to see a lot of upsets, I think we will see more State Finals matches between Sectional Champs in this classification than what we usually see in most classes, most years. Each weight class in 1A seems to have some very clear cut tiers of talent within them and that could lead us to a lot of weights going to "chalk'

Team Race: Social Circle distanced themselves from the field with 6 Sectional Champs, and it will take an epic meltdown for them to not repeat as Champs this year. Mt Pisgah and Commerce will be fighting it out for a distant 2nd place, with Trion coming in at 4th.
