2024 Fargo Junior Men's GR Recap: Sibomana-Rodriguez Adds a 5th to His FS National Crown

Bringing to a close his whirlwind ascension to the national elite, New York Wrestling New's top 2026 prospect out of Long Beach may have missed out on claiming double stop signs (the one he has certainly suffices), but he is still headed back to "Strong Island" with every reason in the world to be walking on air!!!....

Compiling a 5-2 record during the Greco-Roman proceedings that landed him top-5 status in the Junior 113-pound bracket, Sibomana-Rodriguez was checking off milestone boxes like he was playing $5 bingo...

Becoming the first NYer to win a Junior FS crown since 2011 [Brian Realbuto] this past Wednesday, the Marine rising junior now enjoys the honor of being the Evil Empire's first Junior Double AA since 2016 [Brandon Nunez & Kevin Parker]....

Amassing a mind-blowing 12-2 resume between the two international styles, the Savage Wrestling Academy protege picked up on Friday where he had left off two days prior; by completely tearing through opponent after opponent....

Demonstrating a proficiency and mastery in any/every area of the sport (both on the feet and in par terre), the 3x State medalist/2x finalist/2022 Champ continued to be a human highlight reel the past two days under the Dome, as he'd unleash every weapon in his arsenal (4pt standing gut-wrenches, multiple throws, a duck into a body lock for a plant; etc) to rack up FIVE moves of four or more points in his first three outings of GR to register victories to the tune of 8-0 TF, 13-2 TF, and fall 0:39 (up 4-1) over the likes of Tavian Melvin (VA), Austin Lopez (2x New Mexico State placer/2024 runner-up), and Iowa's Max Millage!!!

Clinching his second top-8 finish in as many attempts this week by delivering perhaps his finest performance of the GR tourney in the quarterfinals, Sibomana-Rodriguez converted a TD 46 seconds into the match and then did the bulk of his damage on the mat, as he'd pop three consecutive gut-wrenches to emerge with the sub.-1:00 TF (8-0) over former (2021) Fargo 16U Greco 8th, William Jakeway (2x South Carolina medalist/2023 runner-up)!!!!

After some evidence in back-to-back matches (semifinals + consol. semis) that he is in fact mortal, the "people's champ" returned to his prosperous ways in the 5th/6th-contest...

Squaring off with 2x Michigan State placer/2024 Bronze medalist, 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧, "King Dunia" needed just a little over 90 seconds [1:33 to be exact] to amass an 8-0 TF triumph to raise his overall resume between styles to an astounding 12-2!!!

The points always coming in bunches when he is centerstage, Sibomana-Rodriguez broke open a then scoreless match when he hit a throw-by to get behind his foe and then tossed Ramon for 4, before adding a pair of 2pt guts on the continuation of the action....

Going out with a "w" was the proper conclusion to a tale in which he did not just collect capture hardware; he stole the hearts of everyone in attendance that knew his life story and could not help but be inspired by his greatness!!!!

His only blemishes in the aforementioned semis and consol semis came at the hands of the eventual National Titlist, Nicolas Enzminger (4x North Dakota State medalist/2x Champion; 2024 USAW Junior Folk Nationals 4th; 2023 NHSCA Freshman National runner-up...Finished 5th in Junior FS earlier in the week); as well as 3rd-place performer, Roman Luttrell (3x New Mexico State Champion; 2023 Fargo 16U Greco-Roman Bronze Medalist)!!!
