Start studded lineup of Wrestling Stars ready to rock Perani Arena in Flint, Michigan on December 22nd
Agon Wrestling will continue launching real wrestling into the main-stream with their 2nd event - Agon II, taking place December 22nd in Flint, Michigan's Perani Arena.
Agon II will take place in a much different setting from the innagural event, this time going down in America's wrestling heartland of the Midwest as opposed to the glitz and glammer of Las Vegas.
While this event may not have the shining bright lights of the Vegas strip, it will definitely have the same star power with mega-stars like NCAA Champs Brent Metcalf, Cam Simaz, Max Askren, Kellen Russell, and Chris Bono among the big names on the card.
There will be a strong Michigan presence, which is sure to attract the attention of the home crowd, especially that of Brent Metcalf who grew up and prepped at nearby Davison High School, a suburb of Flint.
Metcalf, a 2x NCAA Champ and the current World Team Member at 66kg, will square off with another former NCAA Champ Chris Bono in the main event.
The undercard will feature NCAA Champ Cam Simaz, a Cornell grad, and 4x All-American Ben Bennett, a CMU product. Simaz and Bennett are both Michigan natives who won 3 state titles in the Great Lakes State as preps, and both are within two years out of their college careers.
University of Michigan 2x NCAA Champ Kellen Russell will wrestle against Michigan State 2x All-American Andy Simmons. Russell is a Blair Academy product out of New Jersey, but Simmons a Michigan native who won 4 state titles in his decorate prep career at Williamston High School.
NCAA Champ Max Askren will hit the Agon mats in attempt to follow his brother Ben's dominating performace in Agon I. Max will square off with Michigan State Assistant Coach Sam Wendland, a former NCAA Qualifier for Wyoming University.
Check back later this month for a deeper look at the Agon matchups. More information on Agon II can be found at the Agon Website.
