4A State Predictions

Before we move to the predictions for this week, lets take a look back and see how we did in our sectionals predictions.

Section A- Correctly predicted 12 of the 14 Section Champs, and 18 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 63 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 75%
Section B- Correctly predicted 11 of the 14 Section Champs and 17 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 69 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 82%

23 of the 28 Sectional Champs is great, but only 35 of the 56 finalists is not too good. However, getting 79% of the State Qualifiers from this classification on top of 23 Champs, makes this really good overall.

Overview: With Region 7 being so strong, it was inevitable that their sectional was going to be much stronger. We will see a lot of Sectional Rematches in the State Finals this week, and several of them will be Region rematches.

Team Race: Central, Carroll is the heavy favorite in this class and they solidified that even further by dominating the toughest sectional. The Lions are absolutely dominant in the lower weights and they have some quality point scorers in the upper weights. It will take quite a bit either Troup or North Hall to score enough to make it interesting at all on Saturday.
