7A State Predictions

Before we move to the predictions for this week, lets take a look back and see how we did in our sectionals predictions.

Section A- Correctly predicted 11 of the 14 Section Champs, and 24 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 67 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 80%
Section B- Correctly predicted 12 of the 14 Section Champs and 22 of the 28 Sectional Finalists. Correctly identified 72 of the 84 State Qualifiers from this section, 86%

Saved my best set of predictions for last, a whopping 83% of the State Qualifiers predicted and 23 of 28 Section Champs. I also only missed on 10 of the 56 Sectional Finalists.

Overview: Balance between the sections was great, however with Region 1 and Region 8 being so tough, they each dominated their section, which should leave us with another epic team race between Camden and Buford.

Team Race: Last year the team race at the Traditional Tournament came down to the last couple of matches, and we could see a repeat of that again this year. Buford rode the backs of their finalists and Champs, while Camden won it all behind an effort that saw all 14 wrestlers place in the top 6. This year Camden looks to have a few more finalists, but I am not sure they can pull off another 14 medal sweep.
