Romeo picked up a tech at 106 with state qualifier Adamo, but other than that, it was all Shamrocks. Totten won a big match to kick off the dual at 120lbs with a tech over state qualifier Adamo. Jamison Gregory earned a pin over state placer Holt, and Lee Krueger won 7-0 in a battle of #1 vs #2 at 190. Detroit CC will see #4 Clarkston in the semis tomorrow morning.
Recap: Dominant first round for Brighton who beat #7 Dakota 65-9. State placers Wilson and Criteser were the lone winners for the Cougars, who were without state placer Nihranz. Brighton picked up 8 wins, including Courneya and Nauss pinning state qualifiers at 144 and 157. Brighton will see #3 Davison in tomorrow morning's semifinals.
Recap: #3 Davison is moving onto the semis after a 42-27 win over #6 Rockford. Without their day-one starters at 106, 113, and 285, the Cardinals still found a way to pull away in this dual toward the upperweights. Rockford picked up a huge win at 165 as #1 Aulbach bumped up and beat #2 Jelinek in sudden victory, but it wasn't enough for the Rams. Savage over Hammingh at 190 all but sealed it for Davison. They'll see #2 Brighton in tomorrow morning's semifinals.
Recap: In a rematch of the first week of the season, #4 Clarkston was again victorious over #5 Bedford. It came down to bonus points in the end, with the Wolves picking up a 36-35 win to reach the semis for the first time since 2007. Culloty, Anderson, LeFevre, and Mutter picked up 26 points cumulatively to build a 26-10 lead early. Connor Hall won a war at 175lbs to keep Bedford in it. Ultimately, Olson picked up a much needed major at 190 and state qualifier Hahn sealed the win with a pin at 106.
