Women's National Championship Results

The 2024 U.S. Marine Corps Women’s National Championships concluded on Sunday morning as champions were crowned in Spokane, Washington. Winners at each weight class for the U17, U20, and U23 tournament secured a spot on the 2024 World Team. The U17 World Championships will be in Amman, Jordan, and the U20 World Champinships will be in Pontevedra, Spain. The U23 World Championships will be Tirana, Albania.

In all, 8 wrestlers from Michigan reached the podium across all age groups, with one individual making a world team. Kaili Manuel, fresh off winning an MHSAA state championship for Romeo HS and making a Michigan Grappler Dream Team, can now add being World Team member to her already impressive resume. She dominated through the bracket, including teching nationally ranked #4 Sarah Henckel (Connecticut) in the semis, to reach the best-of-3 finals against Sarah Pulk (Minnesota). Manuel would drop the first match before rattling off a 9-2 win, and then ultimately pinning nationally ranked Pulk in the final match to make the team and represent the United States in Amman, Jordan.

Bo Geibe, currently wrestling at Siena Heights, was another bright spot for Michigan, as she placed in two age groups. After finishing 8th at 76kg in the U20 bracket, Geibe bumped up to the U23 age group. Geibe would pick up two techs and a pin to reach the best-of-3 series with a spot for the World Team on the line. Unfortunately, Geibe ran into Tristan Kelly (Colorado), who is a Cadet World Team member and a Cadet and Junior Fargo champion. Kelly would win both matches, making Geibe finish as the runner-up.
